Terms & Conditions

The prices, specifications, and conditions are satisfactory and hereby accepted. Home and Business Electric is authorized to do the work as outlined and a non-refundable deposit collected by Home and Business Electric constitutes an agreement to the following Terms & Conditions.

You have the right to cancel this agreement within three business days from the date of signing without any penalty or obligation, as per Wisconsin state law.

Any alterations or deviations from the specifications involving extra costs will become an extra charge over and above the provided quote. This includes any unforeseen correction(s) to existing conditions which may be deemed necessary to have repaired or replaced in order to accommodate the scope of work to be completed. This may also include a Change Order Surcharge (COS) to accommodate the administrative requirements involved in executing change orders requested by the customer. This COS will be 10% of the final amount of the changes and included on the final invoice.
Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for damage done to work or materials by others after installation. In the case of drywall/plaster or other material damage needed in order to complete the work, Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for charges or repairs needed. Home and Business Electric is not responsible for site restoration due to repair or installation of materials by other. In the case of trenching – Home and Business Electric is not responsible for trench settling, damage to grass, sod, plants, trees, bushes, etc., or damage to underground property.

When replacing or altering items, Home and Business Electric WILL dispose of any waste/debris related to materials that we supply and leave any remodeling job in a broom-clean state, which means that it has been swept and disposed of. Home and Business Electric will NOT dispose of waste/debris related to a remodeling job that we did not supply nor will Home and Business Electric dispose of waste/debris related to customer supplied materials.
Customers MUST supply light fixtures that are certified by a reputable safety company (“listed” fixtures). “Listed” fixtures must be listed by OSHA’s Nationally Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) such as, UL, ETL, MET, and CSA. This ensures the fixture is certified to safely perform its job as intended. Home and Business Electric will only install “listed” fixtures. These “listed” fixtures can be purchased from big box or lighting stores. Fixtures purchased online are NOT guaranteed to be a “listed” fixture and if a fixture is purchased online, proof must be provided to Home and Business Electric that it is a “listed” fixture. Home and Business Electric always supplies “listed” fixtures.

Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for fixtures and equipment supplied by others. Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for any losses of materials or equipment, on site or installed, including but not limited to theft, damage, vandalism, etc. Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for existing work, parts, equipment, materials, or conditions. Home and Business Electric shall not be responsible for careless or otherwise unintended or non-standard use of installed devices or equipment. Home and Business Electric shall not responsible for alterations to completed work or installed materials done by others.
This proposed quote may be withdrawn from Home and Business Electric if not accepted within 30 days.
Payments as follows: 60% of contract, unless otherwise specified, when roughed and before any finish work will be done. Balance of contract due upon completion of work, or when work at least 80% complete and job has been held up for two weeks by others (outside the control of Home and Business Electric).
Home and Business Electric will collect a non-refundable deposit if special order material is supplied or an electrical permit is pulled by Home and Business Electric. Home and Business Electric may collect a non-refundable deposit in all other circumstances.

A monthly service charge, up to the maximum permitted by law, will be charged on completed work not paid within 10 days of invoice date. Returned checks will incur a $25 service charge. Owner will pay all expenses, including actual attorney’s fees and all collection costs, incurred by Home and Business Electric in the enforcement of this agreement and in the collection of any charges due.

If there are children under the age of 18 present while Home and Business Electric is performing work on premise, an adult 18 or older MUST also be present during the entire time Home and Business Electric is performing work/on premise. Home and Business Electric is not liable or responsible for children left unattended.

All agreements contingent upon strikes, accidents, or delays are beyond our control. Owner to carry fire, tornado, and other necessary insurance on work. Workmen’s Compensation and standard Public Liability Insurance on work to be taken out by Home and Business Electric.

As required by the Wisconsin Construction Lien Law, Home and Business Electric hereby notifies owner that persons or companies furnishing labor or materials for the construction on owner’s land may have lien rights on owner’s land and buildings if not paid. Those entitled to lien rights, in addition to Home and Business Electric, are those who contract directly with the owner or those who give the owner notice within 60 days after they first furnish labor or materials for the construction. Accordingly, owner probably will receive notices from those who furnish labor or materials for the construction, and should give a copy of each notice received to his mortgage lender, if any. Home and Business Electric agrees to cooperate with the owner and his lender, if any, to see that all potential lien claimants are duly paid.
